Sitting Up

Erin has been sitting up on her own for a week now. She can't get to the sitting position on her own, but she stays seated upright on her own. Earlier in the week, she was leaning way over to hold ehrself up, like a bad yoga position. Then she got where she was sitting up on her own (a bit tri-pod-ish) for a second or two before falling over/backwards. But now she's totally sitting upright on her own for quite some time, usually until she tries to take something to her mouth. She doesn't quite get that she can totally raise something completely to her mouth. She tenses up her hands, raises the item very slightly, and then lowers her head to get her mouth closer the rest of the way, which makes her fall. But it's so great she's sitting upright unsupported.

In-Flight Entertainment

I got a sign the other day (Tuesday?) while eating a fortune cookie that I just couldn't ignore. The cookie said:

"Stop waiting! Buy that ticket and take a trip today"

So, since then I've been in talks with everyone about going to Peru and seeing my parents with Erin. All seems to be going well and all signs are still saying "yes." Her doctor said it was ok, just to have moquito netting for her crib and stroller/carrier (which we have).

But anyway, I found this cute article that I thought was about a real airlines until I got a ways into it. Darn, knew it was too good to be true! Enjoy:

Dad Life

A friend of mine posted this video. I guess her church, Church on the Move, did this video... and I love it.

Jaw Talk

Ok, so Erin's been doing this cute little thing when she talks now she moves her jaw a whole lot. She's been doing it for the past couple of days now. It first started with her just moving it and looking like she was chewing, but now it's full on with words and too cute to ignore. I hope you enjoy the video!

Arkansas Vacation

Last year Chris and I went to Arkansas as a "babymoon" around this same time last year. We both knew I was pregnant, but hadn't told anyone yet. He had a class to take and I went with him. We had a lot of fun.
This year, we went back to Arkansas purely by chance, at around the same time. We didn't go to the same city, but it was close (we drove through it). We hung out at a cabin that his parents rented for a couple of weeks. It was really nice, and close to town (Eureka Springs). I'm going to add a slideshow as soon as I have more time on the computer.

Picture Posts

Hey everyone, this is just a quick update: everyone is fine, especially Erin. Chris has my laptop for most of this week, so I'm not going to be able to update and post pictures like normal (ok, so I'm not normally that good at keeping this up to date anyway). But I promise there will be posts about our vacation last week (8th & 9th) and her Dr. apt (yesterday? and yes, all is well... she is very healthy).
Other than that, not much to note. She's starting to fight naptimes this last week, but is talking more. In fact I have a great video (that takes a while to upload) I'll post next week and pre-date it so that you can see it of this week of her chatting it up.
Alright, I'm exhausted and am going to bed. Toodles.

Erin Takes Her first Steps

Uncle Josh helps Erin take her first steps.

Erin's 4 month check-up

Today was Erin's 4 month check-up. Here are the stats:
Weight: 15.3 lbs (putting her in the 83rd percentile)
Length: 25.25 in (also putting her in the 83rd percentile)
Head Circumference: 16.5 in (in the 72nd percentile)

She's doing very well and is healthy. Had to have her shots today, so her legs are a little tender... and the rest of the day she was babbling away. It was super cute, but I didn't know what she wanted so we'd just talk and talk and talk for quite some time. Really super cute.

Hair-Pulling

OK, so I'm not pulling my hair out on purpose, but over the last few days (ok, about a week or so) I've noticed an increase in the amount of hair coming out when I just run my hands through or take my ponytail down. I knew that the hormones leveling off would do this, but today and yesterday was an amazing amount of hair! I must have a bald spot somewhere, because I already have fine hair. So maybe I should delay that haircut I've been waiting for and keep all the hair I can while I've still got some!
